Statement of Purpose

To provide free, impartial and confidential support, aid or information and referral services for the community.
To provide emergency relief to assist with some of the basic living needs of disadvantaged people in the Community.
To provide professional Family Counselling, Legal Advice, Tax-Help and Budget Assistance programs for people who are eligible.
To advocate and act on behalf of disadvantaged people, as requested by them, with government bodies, utility companies and community organisations.
To co-operate and network or otherwise with other organisations to ensure that all community resources and services are used in the most effective manner to assist the people who access our services.
To develop community awareness and promote public knowledge of community needs and services through engaging with community education programs.
To foster volunteering in the community and provide a safe, harmonious and interesting working environment for volunteers and students who are on placement from the tertiary sector.
To provide facilities and services for neighbourhood house activities, community development, education and support.
To reduce the isolation of individuals and groups by provision of programs and services which encourage social interaction, self-help and mutual support.

To provide general community and further education opportunities to enable individuals to better meet their needs through skills development and improve their capacity for income generation.
To seek funding and assistance required or reasonably incidental to the implementation of the above purposes.
To provide and Occasional Child Care Program for children of pre-school age to enable primary care givers to participate in a range of community activities and services.
